The first bill signed by President Barack Obama is the so-called Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, named after the longtime Goodyear Tire and Rubber employee who accused the company of pay discrimination only to be rebuffed by the U.S. Supreme Court, which found she had not filed within 180 days of an employer’s first alleged violation, as the law required.
