An Oct. 4, 2008, wedding at Monroe City United Methodist Church is planned by Shayla Adams and William "Bill" Roop.

Parents of the engaged couple are Rick and Joyce Adams of Monroe City and Jacob and Linda Roop of Traverse City, Mich.

The future bride, a 2000 graduate of Monroe City R-1 High School, received a degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville in 2005. She is a second-grade teacher with Columbia Public Schools.

The future groom, a 2000 graduate of Traverse City Central High School, received a degree from Northwest Missouri State in 2005. He works for Engineering Surveys and Services in Columbia.
