THE TRIBUNE'S VIEW
Trading with the enemy

By HENRY J. WATERS III, Publisher, Columbia Daily Tribune
I was pleased to learn how much Iranians have been buying from the United States. From bull semen to refrigerators, the volume of their imports is encouraging. Palin speed-dated diplomacy
By MAUREEN DOWD
I don’t agree with those muttering darkly that the picture of Gov. Sarah Palin with a perky smile and shapely gams posing with a pleased Henry Kissinger, famous for calling power the ultimate aphrodisiac, is a sign of the apocalypse.

Campaign draws eye in Canada
By BRENDA BILON
Canadians take an interest in the United States, whether it be a hurricane, a downturn in the economy or the presidential campaign. The United States is our neighbor, trading partner and political ally. We are concerned about what happens because it affects us as well.
