Son receives 30 years for father’s 2007 death
Published Saturday, September 27, 2008
LIBERTY (AP) - A Clay County man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for the shooting death of his father last year. Craig Moke of Pleasant Valley pleaded guilty last month to a second-degree murder in the death of 46-year-old William Moke. The son was 20 when he shot his father multiple times with a stolen rifle in May 2007. Police found William Moke’s body in a yard across the street from his North Kansas City home. At the sentencing yesterday, relatives told The Kansas City Star they still love Craig Moke but felt he deserved a maximum sentence. Copyright 2008 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
