Bob Bush, 1941-2008

Forrest "Bob" Bush, 67, of Columbia passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at his home.
A memorial service, conducted by James Batye, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at Nilson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Bob was born Jan. 11, 1941, in Callaway County, the son of James "J.W." and Thelma Tackett Bush. He married Norma Dawson on Feb. 20, 1968, in Millersburg, and she survives. He owned and operated Bob’s Service Co. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a love for animals and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 594 and a member of VFW Post 280. Other survivors include a son, Bob, of Mokane from his former marriage to Sharon Salmons of Fulton; a son, Wayne, of Columbia; two sisters, Barbara Shaon and Kay Jahto, both of Fulton; and seven grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his parents and one sister, Billie White. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society.
