Published on columbiatribune.com Wednesday, September 17, 2008

The University of Missouri has hired a financial aid officer from Indiana University as MU’s next director of financial aid.

The hiring of James Brooks was announced Wednesday by Ann Korschgen, MU’s vice provost for enrollment management. Brooks currently is associate director of financial aid at IU. His new role becomes effective Nov. 3. He will succeed Joe Camille, who retires Oct. 31.

Since 1999, Brooks has been the senior associate director in the IU Office of Student Financial Assistance, responsible for grants and scholarship processing. He previously served as assistant director for client services and as a financial aid counselor at the school.

Brooks has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Anderson University in Indiana and a master’s degree in sociology from the University of Notre Dame.
