Community United Methodist Church, 3301 W. Broadway, will have contemporary worship at 5 p.m. The Rev. Kevin Shelton will begin the series "The Next Chapter."

Sunday

All People’s Church, 219 McBaine Ave., will have services at 9:45 and 11 a.m. Pastor Lou Ella Canton will give the sermon. The public is welcome.

Campus Lutheran Church, 304 S. College Ave., will have a traditional worship service at 8:30 a.m. and contemporary worship at 11 a.m. with Sunday school and Bible class at 9:45 a.m. The sermon will be "Learning to Forgive" by Pastor Kent Pierce.

Grace Bible Church, 601 Blue Ridge Road, will have services at 8:45 and 10:30 a.m. Pastor Michael Burt will begin a series preaching though the book of Joshua. The study will begin at 6 p.m. and will focus on "Things to Come: The Study of Biblical Prophesies of the End Times."

St. Paul AME Church, 501 Park Ave., will celebrate their Annual Men’s Day during the morning worship at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Lester Woods, pastor of Urban Empowerment, will be the guest speaker.

Karis Community Church will host "Bike or Hike to Church Sunday" at Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts, Ninth and Locust streets. This is in conjunction with Get About Columbia’s "Way to Go to Work" month. Lead Pastor Kevin Larson will preach at 10 a.m. from Luke 8:26-39. Missouri United Methodist Church, 204 S. Ninth St., will have a Heritage Fund Milestone Dinner at 12:30 p.m. to celebrate the Heritage Preservation Endowment Fund exceeding $2 million in principal. The dinner will be provided by Jack’s Gourmet Restaurant. Tickets are $10 and available from the church office.

Olivet Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, 1991 S. Olivet Road, will have worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Dennis Swearingin will preach from Romans 13:8-14 on "We are the Church." Adult, youth and children’s Sunday school classes begin at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1600 W. Rollins Road, will have worship services at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. The sermon will be "Seventy Times Seven Equals 490, but Who’s Counting?" The Franc M. Guthrie Deck Dedication will be held at 2 p.m. at Stubbins Youth Center in Moberly. An ice cream social will be held at 5:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

Unity Center of Columbia, 1600 W. Broadway, will have worship at 9 and 11 a.m. The talk will be on "Community, Conscientiousness and Commitment." Live music will be performed by Devotion and Brian Henke. Henke will also perform an evening concert at 7 p.m. for a free-will offering. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Wilkes Boulevard United Methodist Church, 702 Wilkes Blvd., will have Sunday school and classes for all ages at 9:30 p.m. At 10:45 a.m. Pastor Jill Sander speak on Romans 14, "The Open Door." It’s bring a friend Sunday. Annual Flyless Picnic will be held at 5 p.m. Call 449-4363 for details.

Missouri United Methodist Church will have Wednesday Night Live at 6:30 p.m. in CLC 107/109. Bible study will be led by Senior Pastor Jim Bryan.

Riggs Church, Williams Road off Old Highway 63, will have a beef and mutton barbeque from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 20. Adults $9, children 7 to 12 $3; children 6 and under are free. Trinity Presbyterian Church will have the Boy Scout troop 4 meeting at 7 p.m. Monday. Men’s Prayer Group will be held at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday. Retired men’s breakfast at Picadilly’s will be held at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday. The year-round vacation Bible school will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and choir practice will be at 7 p.m.

Wilkes Boulevard United Methodist Church will have family game night for the entire community 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday. There will be cards, board games and action games for the kids and their parents. Call 449-4363 for more information.
