Area law enforcement agencies plan to set up a sobriety checkpoint at an undisclosed location in Boone County this weekend, the Boone County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

Traffic fines payable online or by phone
Traffic law offenders in Columbia are now able to pay traffic fines online or over the phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week for an added fee.

Suicide prevention workshop planned
The Boone County Mental Health Board will sponsor a suicide prevention workshop from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in the commission chambers of the Boone County Government Center at Eighth and Ash streets. The event is free and open to the public.
