A news story Tuesday about plans for a new health clinic in Hallsville incorrectly attributed a statement to University of Missouri Health Care spokeswoman Mary Jenkins that University Physicians in 2007 closed a clinic there because of "continuing" financial losses. The news story did not report that some information cited was from previously published news stories. Jenkins offered a clarifying statement: "University of Missouri Health Care announced in July 2006 that we planned to close the University Physicians Hallsville Clinic effective Oct. 6, 2006, due to financial losses that totaled $675,000 over five years." The clinic officially closed on Nov. 30.
