Regulating tobacco

In 2000 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled the Food and Drug Administration did not have the authority to regulate tobacco products, and the agency disbanded the effort. In July the House easily passed a bill establishing such authority, and most senators support it, but President George W. Bush has threatened a veto.

When viewed against your coverage of the Wall Street crises, we see how dysfunctional our economic system has become. The "spend down" requirements the Van Dykes face to be able to afford health care occur in homes across the state and nation.
Debate shows Palin not plausible president
