A Columbia man was treated and released from Boone Hospital Center after his vehicle hit a tree Friday night in west Boone County. At about 11:15 p.m., the Missouri State Highway Patrol said, Terry Sapp, 49, was driving a 1995 GMC south on Route UU near Gillespie Bridge Road when he lost control and the vehicle ran off the left side of the road, striking a tree. Sapp was wearing a seat belt at the time.
