Community United Methodist Church, 3301 W. Broadway, will have contemporary worship at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Jim Oman and the Rev. Mel West, guest preachers.

Fairview United Methodist Church, 3200 Chapel Hill Road, will have a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to benefit mission work.

Midway Locust Grove United Methodist Church, 2600 N. Locust Grove Church Road, will have the 73rd annual Country Dinner and Bazaar from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be pork loin or chicken meal, hand-crafted gifts and food items, games, petting zoo and music by Iron Weed. Sunday

Campus Lutheran Church, 304 S. College Ave., will have a traditional worship service with Holy Communion at 8:30 a.m., and again at 11 a.m. with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. The sermon will be "Opened Eyes - Hearts Ablaze!" by pastor Dave Benson.

Columbia First Nazarene, 2601 Blue Ridge Road, will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Church of Nazarene at the 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. services. After the morning service will be a barbecue lunch. From noon to 2 p.m., there will be a motorcycle and car show for all to participate in with no registration fee. Columbia United Church of Christ, 3201 I-70 Drive N.W. invites all to worship at 8:15 and 10:30 a.m. led by the Rev. Christine Isham-Walsh, guest minister. The Adult Thinkers and Doers forum will be at 9 a.m. Guest speaker will be Sarah Reed on "Compassion as a Spiritual Discipline." All are welcome.

Grace Bible Church, 301 Blue Ridge Road, will have services at 8:15 and 11 a.m. Pastor Michael Burt will continue preaching through the Book of Joshua. Pastor Michael Burt will also continue his Sunday evening fall study series. The study will be focuses on "Expanding your Toolbox: Exploring Unbound Resources for Bible Study of the 21st Century."

Historic St. Paul AME Church, 501 Park Ave., will celebrate the Rev. Mary Hill-Lovette’s Pastor Appreciation Day with a special program at 3 p.m. The Rev. Karen Walker McClure of Russell Chapel will be the guest speaker.

Missouri United Methodist Church, 204 S. Ninth St., will hold a special service at 2 p.m. in the courtyard facing Ninth Street. "Blessing of the Animals" will include a short service, a snack for owners and pets and a blessing by Pastor Jim Bryan. All pets are welcome. Please have a leash for dogs and cats and a pooper scooper. Tables will be provided for fish bowls and other small cages.

Olivet Christian Church, 1991 S. Olivet Road, will have worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Larry Brown will present the sermon on "A Tale of Two Farmers," using Scripture reference: Exodus 19.5-6, 20.1-14; Matthew 21.33-46. Adult, youth and children’s Sunday school classes begin at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1600 W. Rollins, will have worship services and World Communion Sunday at 8:30 a.m. The sermon will be "The Fourth Time." Sunday school class starts at 9:30 a.m.

Unitarian Universalist Church, 2615 Shepard Blvd., will have worship services at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. The sermon will be "It’s All About Children." Youth and religious classes and nursery care are also offered at 10:30 a.m.

Unity Center of Columbia, 1600 W. Broadway, will have Sunday service at 9 and 11 a.m. The service will be based on the book "Invisible Acts of Power" series. "Creativity and Finances, written by Carolyn Myss, will be presented at the 9 and 11 a.m. services. Adult Sunday school will be at 10 a.m. on "Spiritual Economics." Children and youth classes offered at 11 a.m. each Sunday. Each Wednesday, meditation is offered from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. The class study "I of the Storm" is offered at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays.

Wilkes Boulevard United Methodist Church, 702 Wilkes Blvd., will have Sunday school and Bible study classes for all ages at 9:30 a.m. World Communion Day multilingual worship with the Rev. Jill Sander’s message, "Bread of the World," based on Mark 14:12-26 will be at 10:45 a.m. Five different ethnic breads will be offered. For more information, call 449-4363.

Hallsville United Methodist Church, 11700 N. Route B., will have a smorgasbord next Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 5 to 12. The meal includes brisket, ham, turkey, a variety of salads, vegetables and desserts. For more information, call 696-2758.

Missouri United Methodist Church will hold Wednesday Night Live at 6:30 p.m. in CLC 107/109. The program will be "Compulsive Gambling" presented by Mark Rembecki and Don Smith, certified compulsive gambling counselors. call 443-3111.
