Wilma Fortney, 1924-2008

Wilma Irene Fortney, 84, of Columbia passed away Oct. 1, 2008, at Boone Hospital Center.

Private graveside services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia.

Irene was born July 11, 1924, in Slater to Albert and Mabel Howard Henry, who preceded her in death.

Irene will be remembered as a very loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her sons, William D. Fortney and wife Sheila of Manhatten, Kan., and Robert E. Fortney and wife Cathy of Kansas City; daughters, Janet Rueschhoff and husband Ken of Wildwood and JoAnn Pingleton and husband Tim of Columbia; sisters, Nora Foster of Marshall and Audrey Irvin of Columbia; grandchildren, Jennifer, Brian, Alison, Andrew, Jim, Tyler, Anna, Paul and Megan.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
