Centralia
collects 12 hits in win
Tolliver’s bat, arm defeat Hallsville.

Jordyn Tolliver went 3 for 3 with three doubles and pitched four innings to lead Centralia to a 9-6 home victory over Hallsville yesterday. Jordan Meyers collected two of Centralia’s 12 hits, including a home run. Sam Bowne went 1 for 1 with a double. Centralia improved to 17-2 entering today’s Clarence Cannon Conference game at Louisiana. A victory would put the Panthers in position to finish unbeaten in conference play heading into its home finale tomorrow against Palmyra.
Boys soccer ● Southern Boone 6, Montgomery County 1: Charlie Holloway scored twice, and Skyler White, Cameron Jones, David Moore and Seth Verduin each added goals for the Eagles (6-4) in Ashland. ● Mexico 8, Boonville 0: The Pirates were outshot 31-3 and dropped to 1-11 on the season.
Girls golf ● Hallsville wins triangular: The Indians shot a 225 to top New Bloomfield and Harrisburg yesterday at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton. New Bloomfield’s Shannon Crumpton was the medalist with a 47, and Harrisburg’s Paige Heibel was second with a 48. Hallsville’s top four players were Sam Heinrich with a 54, Lacy Lockwood with a 55, Nicole McMorris with a 57 and Nicole Shoop with a 59. ● Capital City Tournament: Rock Bridge finished fourth and Hickman 12th in the 19-team tournament Monday at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in Jefferson City. The Bruins shot a 369, and Hickman totaled a 415. Rock Bridge’s Meghan Mueller finished third with an 80, followed by Kayla Burri with a 90, Jackie Davis with a 97, Sam Sheehan with a 102 and BreAnn Hollinger with a 105.
Volleyball ● Linn 2, Hallsville 1: Linn won 25-23, 18-25, 25-18 in Hallsville. Nikki Johann led the Indians with 14 points and five aces, and Mariah Crouch scored 11 points with five aces.
