Columbian named Nixon chief counsel

Ted Ardini, a lawyer who lives in Columbia, will become chief legal counsel to Jay Nixon when he becomes governor in January, it was announced today. Ardini, 42, will advise Nixon on all legal matters. Since 2003, Ardini has been Nixon’s counsel in the attorney general’s office, where Ardini has worked for the past 16 years. A native of Hanover, Mass., Ardini earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Merrimack College and a doctorate from the New England School of Law in Boston. He and his wife, Sheri, have three children, Chandler, Kayla and Kaitlyn.
