Edith Arnold, 1918-2008

Edith Mae Arnold, 89, passed away Friday, July 25, 2008, at her home in Villa Ridge.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, July 28. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of service.

Edith was born Nov. 22, 1918, in Columbia to Stanley and Cora Koch Strawn, and they preceded her in death.

Edith was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Eureka, and she will be remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother and aunt. Edith is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Hardcastle and husband Charles of Villa Ridge,; a son, Steven Johnson of Silex; grandchildren Rick Reeves, Leah Clark, Lisa Layton, Michelle Brewer, Rhonda Parks, Jesse Borscher and Scott Johnson; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Carrie Maher and Margurite Coats.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to charity of donor’s choice.
