Smoking ban brings some back out to restaurants
Published Saturday, March 31, 2007
Editor, the Tribune: I have seen a lot of letters and articles in recent months about how bad the new smoking law is for the Columbia economy. I wholeheartedly disagree. My family and I have returned to several restaurants since Jan. 9 that we stopped going to a few years ago because they were too smoky. We were very happy when the law went into effect because we were not limited to just a few restaurants that were smoke-free. Now we can enjoy all that the Columbia dining scene has to offer - we are enjoying eating out much more now than before the new law. I am very proud to live in a town that made such a proactive health decision, and I hope this law does not change.
