Donald Clark Sr., 1936-2007

Donald D. Clark Sr., 70, of Millersburg died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at his home. Services conducted by chaplain Tom Graddy will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at Nilson Funeral Home in Columbia. Visitation will be one hour before services. Mr. Clark was born Oct. 27, 1936, in Mayview, to Harold Clark Sr. and Ethel Canida Clark. He married Dorothy Ann Birkes on Feb. 4, 1956, in McPherson, Kan. She preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 2004. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a tech sergeant. He was a beloved father, father-in-law, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed by many. Don was an avid gun collector, enjoyed fishing and loved small children. Survivors include his son, Donald Clark II of Springfield; four daughters, Debbie Clark and Delaine Carpenter and husband Jack, all of Millersburg, Dianne Clark of Ashland, and Denise Gibson and husband Robbie of Fayette; two brothers, Harold Clark Jr. of Slater and George Clark of Marshall; two sisters, Virginia Clark of Columbia and Judy Sheffer and husband Jim of Marshall; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Memorial contributions are suggested to Community Hospice of America, 800 N. Highway 63, Suite 100, Columbia, Mo., 65201.
