John Thompson, 1936-2007

John Robert Thompson, 70, of Columbia died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at University Hospital.

Services conducted by Gaylen Novak will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Columbia.

Mr. Thompson was born Dec. 9, 1936, in Urich, to John and Edna May Fann Thompson.

He married Sandra Murphy on Nov. 28, 1980, in Clinton. He was a Jehovah Witness.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Thompson of Clark; three sons, Michael Levi Murphy of Columbia, Brandon Keith Murphy of Hallsville and John Lee Murphy of North Dakota; daughter Jeanette Yvonne Nelson of Clark; three sisters, Donna Keener, Elizabeth Hoey and Laverne Angle; and nine grandchildren.
