Blackburn wins at 24 Raceway Fulton’s Kevin Blackburn won the A-Modified feature and Hallsville’s Chad Hickam won the Hornets feature Saturday at 24 Raceway in Moberly. Columbia’s Brooke Hassler finished third in the Hornets feature. Bowling Green’s Darin Walker won the Late Models event, Madison’s Alan Hultz won the Hobby Stock division, Cairo’s Jeff Creed won the Sportsman class and Kirksville’s Kelly Smith won in the B-Modifieds.
Trailblazers win at Indiana tournament The Missouri Trailblazers went 3-0 in pool play at the Pastime Tournaments Father’s Day Invitational over the weekend in Bloomington, Ind. Shawn Weitzel, Jake Bax and Jordan Rowden were the winning pitchers for the Trailblazers. Chris Pfau reached in 10 of 16 plate appearances, Cody Kempker reached base six times and Evan Kempker reached five times. Weitzel added a home run. The other Trailblazers are Seth Viet, Zack Woody, Tony Stiffler, Joe Stiffler, Michael Brown, Nolan Wansing, Kyle Hoecker, Phillip Shawver and Tyler Galloway. The team is coached by Josh Swenson and Gary Pfau.
Bombers take tournament title The Central Missouri Bombers 14-and-under baseball team won the Mid-Missouri Grand Slam Tournament last weekend at Twin Oaks. The Bombers went 5-0 over the three-day event. Team memebers include Brendon Bailey, Craig Chval, Jon Glendening, Raymond McLagan, Justin Mize, Mark Pickerel, Cody Reno, Clint Ross, Brandon Sparks, Damien Stone, Tyler Wall and Brandon Welch.
