Lillian Hilgedick, 1927-2007

Lillian Emma Hilgedick - "Miss Lil" - passed away Sunday, June 17, 2007, at Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville.

A private family service will be held Tuesday, June 19, at Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette. Burial will be at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Fayette. A public memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Fayette.

Lillian was born on Nov. 11, 1927, to Fred and Alma Hackmann Uthlaut in Howard County. She attended Cherry Grove rural school and graduated from New Franklin High School.

On May 9, 1948, she married Donald J. Hilgedick, who survives along with four sons and their wives: George and Pat, Glenn and Trish, Marvin and Brenda J., all of Fayette and Paul and Rita of Huron, S.D. Grandchildren are: Shane and Charice Hilgedick, Emily and Chris Bange, Leslie Hilgedick, Mike and Heather Hilgedick and Nick Hilgedick, all of Fayette, David Hilgedick of Warrensburg, Ann Hilgedick and Andrea Hilgedick of Huron, S.D., Brandon Hilgedick of Humble, Texas; and stepgrandson, Chris Diehls of Columbia. There are also three great-grandchildren, Kelly and Cody Hilgedick and Aven Bange, all of Fayette. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. William "Betty" Moon of Columbia; sisters-in-law, Katherine Uthlaut of Fayette, Violet Bishop of Amarillo, Texas; brother-in-law, Wayne Hilgedick of Hartsburg; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her parents and a brother, Carl Uthlaut, preceded her in death.

Shane Hilgedick, Nick Hilgedick, Mike Hilgedick, David Hilgedick, Chris Bange, Chris Diehls and Steve VanWinkle will serve as casket bearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to First Christian Church of Fayette, Howard County Home Health and Hospice, Missouri Girls Town and the Optimist Foundation in care of Carr-Yager Funeral Home, 204 N. Linn, Fayette, Mo., 65248.
