Borduin runs at national track event

Rock Bridge track standout Lauren Borduin competed in the Nike Outdoor Nationals yesterday in Greensboro, N.C.

Borduin, who won Class 4 titles in the 800- and 1,600-meter runs last month as a junior at the MSHSAA Track and Field Championships, finished second in her 800 heat yesterday with a time of 2 minutes, 14.17 seconds. Lyndsay Harper of Albequerque, N.M., won the heat in 2:12.40.

Borduin’s time ranked 25th among the 47 girls that competed in the 800. Competing in the last of seven sections, Chanelle Price of Easton, Pa., set the meet record with a time of 2:02.76.
