Gift from wealthy residents could help arts in Columbia

Editor, the Tribune: I read with interest your article on David White and the misfortune he had while trying to raise money for the renovation of the Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts. I recently read in the Missourian that Columbia has two of the wealthiest families in Missouri. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they would make a generous contribution to this city where they reside - a contribution that would enhance the city and give its residents a welcome gift?

Many people with limited incomes have contributed to this project because they enjoy the programs presented and appreciate the wonderful, affordable venues provided year-round. This renovation will be a gem in the crown of Columbia.
